Hospora Platform Fee
Updated 1 October 2026
When you order, book or buy a gift card online from a venue that uses Hospora, you'll see a fee called the Hospora Platform Fee in your cart. This article explains what it is, how much it is, and how it's different from the other charges on your bill.
What the Hospora Platform Fee is
The Hospora Platform Fee is a fee for using the Hospora platform to order, book and pay online. You'll see it as its own line in your cart or booking summary, and it's included in the total you confirm. It's separate from the price of the items, table or gift card you're buying.
On the screen and on your confirmation, it appears as Platform Fee.
Why there's a Platform Fee
Hospora builds and runs the ordering, booking and payment technology you're using: the menu and cart, taking your payment, and sending your confirmation. The Platform Fee helps cover the cost of running that platform and keeping it improving.
From 1 October 2026, the Platform Fee replaces the card surcharge and the day-of-week and public holiday surcharges that were added to some online orders and gift card purchases before. You pay the Platform Fee instead of those charges, not as well as them.
How much the fee is
The fee is a fixed amount that depends on what you're paying for, after any discounts and before the fee itself is added. It's capped at $2.00, so it never grows with a bigger order.
| Amount | Platform Fee |
|---|---|
| $0.01 to $24.99 | $0.50 |
| $25 to $49.99 | $1.00 |
| $50 to $74.99 | $1.50 |
| $75 to $99.99 | $2.00 |
| $100 and over | $2.00 capped |
The fee updates automatically as you add or remove items, and the total shown when you pay is the amount you're charged. If your total comes to $0 after a discount or promo code, there's no fee.
Where you'll see it
The Platform Fee applies to payments made online through Hospora:
- Online orders
- Pickup, dine-in and delivery orders.
- Pool table bookings
- When you pay for your table.
- Gift cards
- When you buy a gift card online.
Deposits for section, large group and function bookings don't include the Platform Fee.
If your payment is refunded
If your payment is refunded in full, the Platform Fee is refunded with it. If only part of it is refunded, the fee stays. If you think the fee should come back on a partial refund, ask the venue you paid.
Other charges you might see
The Platform Fee is the only fee Hospora adds to your purchase. If a venue adds a charge of its own, the venue sets it, not Hospora, and it appears on its own line.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fee charged per item or per order?
Once per order, booking or gift card purchase. It doesn't increase with the number of items.
Does the fee change on Sundays or public holidays?
No. The amounts in the table above apply every day of the week.
Is the Platform Fee the same as a card surcharge?
No. A card surcharge was a percentage that depended on how you paid. The Platform Fee is a fixed amount that's the same whichever way you pay. Card surcharges no longer apply to online orders or gift card purchases.
Can I remove the fee from my purchase?
No. It applies to online orders, pool table bookings and gift card purchases. If you'd rather not pay it, you can order, book or buy in person at the venue instead.
Why don't I see the fee on my purchase?
You won't see it if your total was $0 after a discount, if you paid a section, large group or function booking deposit, or if you paid before 1 October 2026.
Where can I see the fee after I've paid?
It's listed as a separate Platform Fee line on your confirmation email, and on the booking confirmation page for pool table bookings.
